Dr Pragya Mishra, Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Allahabad, has been invited to participate as a speaker at this International Conference.

The subject is “Integrity and Judicial Well-being”.

The conference is part of an international judicial well-being and integrity initiative associated with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), through its Pacific Office, in cooperation with the Cayman Islands Judiciary.

Its theme is “Judicial well-being and integrity: from individual resilience to institutional responsibility,” and the three-day programme will focus on judicial integrity, ethical conduct, resilience, institutional accountability, and the well-being of judges.

The conference builds on the Regional Judicial Conference held in Nauru in 2024 and the adoption of the Nauru Declaration on Judicial Well-being.

It is expected to bring together judges, legal scholars, judicial administrators, and international experts working on justice-sector reform, integrity, and well-being.

Dr Mishra works in the areas of neurolaw, criminal jurisprudence, Indian constitutional law, judicial well-being, law and psychology, contemplative practice, and rehabilitative justice.

She is also Honorary Invited Faculty and a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Center for Justice and Mental Well-Being, Nova Institute for Health, Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

Featured in MIT Technology Review, Dr Mishra has published three books and 60 research papers to date. Her monograph, ‘Neurolaw and Criminal Jurisprudence in India’, was published by the leading international publisher Routledge (Taylor & Francis).

Her research has appeared in leading international journals including the Oxford Journal of Law and the Biosciences and Brain Sciences.

Her co-authored work on the legalome has received international scholarly attention and was featured in MIT Technology Review (2025).

With a distinguished academic record, Dr. Mishra completed her Ph.D. in Law from National Law University, Delhi, and her LL.M. from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

She also holds an M.A. in Clinical Psychology, complementing her interdisciplinary work at the intersection of law and psychology.

She secured first rank in B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, where she was awarded 12 gold medals.

Speaking to this Correspondent, Dr Mishra said, “It is a matter of pride to have the opportunity to bring an Indian academic perspective to this important global conversation on judicial well-being, integrity, and institutional responsibility.

She expects to bring into dialogue Indian legal thought, neuroscience, contemplative traditions, and humane approaches to justice.
